Cocaine Diet Bollocks

This summer I’m going to Ibiza on my first ever girls holiday, and for the first time ever, I’m really self conscious of my body.

Over the past couple of years, I haven’t treated my body so well… Going to university and drinking heavily 2/3 times a week. Not eating my 5 a day. Filling myself with crappy takeaways.

One of my biggest idols (at the moment) is Charlotte Crosby, someone I commend for her massive lifestyle change as well as weight loss and envy her for it.

I’d always thought that she’d managed to do it all through healthy eating and plenty of exercise.

It was only yesterday that I found out that I could be wrong. I heard it off the grape vine that she might have been using a bit of the old Charlie to give her weight loss her helping along.

Now, I’ve looked everywhere for evidence of this, but haven’t actually found any articles that say anything about her ‘cocaine diet’ specifically.

There is lots of talk on the internet about other celebrities using this ‘diet’ to lose weight quickly, and the one that stood out the most was Holly Hagan. When I was looking for information on Charlotte going down this route, a number of articles popped up about how Holly had made a video of herself taking a urine test to prove that she hadn’t taken drugs to achieve the body of her dreams.

It stated in the Metro article that Holly’s weight loss was down to dieting, exercise and perseverance over the last 4 years to shed the 3 stone and drop down to a size 8. This is a stark contrast to the 7 month’s it took Charlotte to lose 2 and a half stone and drop 4 dress size.

Seems a little suspicious to me.

But then I could be wrong. However, as enviable as her body is and as much as I strive for it, I still look at her (post learning this information) and think 'Shit, there's no way I can achieve that' and feel even worse about myself.

She isn't the first celebrity to be surrounded by this kind of controversy when it comes to their weight loss. Kate Moss, Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton all lost a phenomenal amount of weight or maintained slender frames apparently thanks to the use of drugs, or so the story goes.

Even though I've been let in on this terribly dirty secret, this isn't going to stop me from doing all I can to get that body the healthy way. Yes, it would be nice to have something aid that and speed the process along, but if I can get a body that looks anywhere near one of my idols, without falling down the rabbit hole and submitting to temptation then I can be proud of myself.

In my eyes, the people who spend this much time in the public eye and are not only idols to people my age, but also young girls, should really set a better example. If people like my number 1 fitness guru idol amazing human Ashy Bines can maintain the way she looks whilst juggling a hectic work life, social life and have a little person to look after, then why are these complacent twenty somethings potentially cheating their way there?
