Being Without Them is Within You

It’s funny how we flourish most after heartbreak isn’t it?

You think you’re in an environment that’s meant to encourage growth, but sometimes, it stunts it. Sadly, you don’t realise that was the case until it’s too late.

It’s only with hindsight, and without the rose tinted glasses, that you see how toxic and negative that environment had become. How much of yourselves you were holding back.

Sometimes, we’re made to think that all the bad is because of us. Made to feel like we are the root cause of all the problems, when in fact, the both if you had a part to play in the bad you had become. Feeding off of one another’s negativity and moulding to each other’s attitude, meaning you’d lost the person you had become in your own right.

How do we stop this happening though when you can’t see it until it’s too late? Leaving the decision to move forward on your own, not down to yourself, but to the person that changed you?

No matter how many people tell you that you’ve changed for the worse, or that the person you expect to spend the rest of your life with isn’t as good for you as you think they are, we still don’t listen.

We learn from our mistakes, grow from them in fact. And it’s important to remind ourselves that we shouldn’t have to change ourselves dramatically to make another persona happy.

Your own happiness is key. In the end, we do find someone who’s willing to take the bad with the good. Make you feel worthy of their love and as though you’re welcome in their life.

Until then, we build ourselves up and find happiness from within. We don’t rely on others to be there to fulfil our happiness. Yes we need others to spend time with others doing the things that make us happy, but that does not mean that they are the root source of the happiness.

That comes from within you.
